The Gabriel Monteiro's sex videos refers to a series of videos leaked online of the Brazilian politician (more specifically a former councillor of the Rio de Janeiro city) and social networks influencer of the same name having sex with a 15-year-old teenager.

Gabriel Monteiro was arrested in November 7th, 2022, with the aforementioned leaked sex footage being one of the reasons. He was eventually paroled in March 22nd, 2025, but forbidden to post (himself, still managed by family members) on social networks and is forced to use electronic tagging.

Gabriel Monteiro is a former (expelled) military cop and a former (impeached) politician. He created his YouTube account in 2018, where he showcased his job, stuff, "social experiments", crime fighting, corruption fighting, and content declaring his support of Brazil's then (elected) president Jair Bolsonaro. He has since then expanded to other social networks like Facebook, Instagram, X and TikTok. In August 5th, 2020, he was expelled from Rio de Janeiro State's Military Police after being accused of desertion for being absent from the service for more than 8 days.

He since then became a politician. In the 2020 Rio de Janeiro city elections, candidated himself as a seat on the city council, running for a chair joining the right-wing Partido Social Democrata party at the time. For 60.326 votes and being in 3rd place among the most voted for in the aforementioned house (only losing to Tarcísio Motta and Carlos Bolsonaro), he was elected.

As a politician, he defended morality and good social conventions against the "horror and obscenity" of the Brazilian "left-wing propaganda" and crime. Once said "cry, leftists" when he was officially elected. As a right-wing politician who criticized the "left-wing propaganda", he made various complaints about promiscuous behaviors and the use of drugs present in various public universities in Brazil, more specifically the Universidade Federal Fluminense, when various students in the Niterói main campus were "defending a criminal" and "demanding freedom" of an arrested Funk carioca music producer, who, in the words of the politician, was a criminal.

The Leaked Videos

The demonetization campaign started very shortly before the illegal videos surfaced online.

In March 27th, 2022, very shortly before the sex videos leaked online, Gabriel Monteiro was in a major controversy regarding about mistreating of employees and forgery of videos, specifically regarding about the operation/shooting videos and a video where he picked a random homeless girl and invited her for a dinner at McDonald's, according to a news report that aired on Globo's weekly "electronic magazine" (newscast) Fantástico. The controversy was disgusting enough for progressist organization Sleeping Giants Brasil to make a demonetization campaign against the politician, by creating a hashtag and telling to various sponsors and advertisers to cut ties with him. As said in the beginning, the campaign (alongside Fantástico's "exposed" news report, which motivated the campaign) started very shortly before the illegal videos were revealed.

In March 30th of the same year, Gabriel Monteiro's sex videos surfaced online and this caused an outrage in the Brazilian media and the social networks. A petition by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio de Janeiro demanded the videos to be taken down from every social network possible (particularly X/Twitter), with a daily fining of R$30.000 in case of ignoring.

The politician defended himself regarding leaks claiming the sexual relationship was consensual, and the underage girl lied, being a 20-year-old adult, but more news claims about the girl going to his mansion, telling the real age to the guards, and using her own school uniform, this showing he was lying.

Another leaked piece of footage, an audio this time, suggests he "likes a lot 16/17-years old young girls" when talking about beautiful women. Another video, this time normally surfacing online, shows him grooming, and kissing in the neck, a random 10-year old girl.. When Brazil's then president Jair Bolsonaro was defending himself in a livestream about a podcast where he claimed that "painted a climate" (sexual innuendo expression) when seeing Venezuelan underage girls, Gabriel Monteiro sent a "God bless you!!!" greeting comment to his livestream. And another accusation, an 23-year old adult woman this time, claims that the politician sexually harassed her and ended up being infected by the HPV virus.

The aforementioned pointers show the reason why Gabriel Monteiro was eventually convicted of rape.

Aftermath

After the conviction for rape by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio de Janeiro, on August 19th, 2022, various members of Rio de Janeiro's City Council launched a petition for Gabriel Monteiro to lose his mandate as a councillor, removing him from the said position. With 48 votes of the 50 in favor of the petition, he lost his mandate. Following the loss, he was blocked from disputing the 2022 Brazilian general election for the position of Federal Deputy for the State of Rio de Janeiro. The blocking was imposed by the state's electoral tribunal, with 6 votes of the 7 in favor of the decision.

On November 7th, 2022, Gabriel Monteiro was arrested. Various left-wing figures celebrated his arrest. After spending more than 2 years in prison, in March 22nd, 2025, by decision of the local justice, the former politician was paroled. However, he was forbidden to post (himself, still managed by family members) on social networks and is forced to use electronic tagging.

Trivia

• Sometime after his parole in 2025, a news report on Record weekly newscast, Domingo Espetacular, called it a " political phenomenon " when he was interviewed about the rape conviction in 2022; the same was called a "political phenomenon", even though his position as a councillor lasted less than 2 years, being impeached in the end. He remained longer as an inmate than as a politician, spending more than 2 years in prison.
• During a grand wave of various accounts in Brazil being withheld in response to a legal demand by the local Supreme Court (particularly Alexandre de Moraes) , none of Gabriel Monteiro's accounts were affected by the decision, despite the aforementioned illegal videos leaking online.
