F.U.B.A.R (Meaning: Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition) is a well-known shockumentary widely recognized in communities dedicated to mixtapes and extreme films. The mixtape was created by a British man named TattooedDoorman in 2011. FUBAR has two official versions: the first, made in 2011, runs 56 minutes; the second, released in 2012, features additional clips and runs 89 minutes. Initially, TattooedDoorman created 10 physical copies of the first version, which were distributed among coworkers and YouTubers. After some re-editing and the removal of watermarks from certain clips, 10 physical copies of the second version were produced.

The continuation of FUBAR was confirmed by the creator through the subreddit r/MondoGore. In May 2025, the release of FUBAR Vol. 2: B.O.H.I.C.A. (B.O.H.I.C.A.: Bend Over Here It Comes Again) was officially announced.

History and Legacy[edit | edit source]

TattooedDoorman’s interest in extreme materials began when he saw a disturbing movie contest on a YouTube channel called 81oakridge, where the creator would showcase his collection and encourage other YouTubers to show theirs. That’s how TattooedDoorman met someone named Genkislave, who, according to TattooedDoorman, “had a collection unlike anything I had ever seen.”

Soon after that, TattooedDoorman started looking for more YouTubers in that genre, which led him to join groups of mixtape creators and enthusiasts. The first version of FUBAR, from 2011, was created in 8 hours while TattooedDoorman was part of one of these groups, called The Scathouse, also known as The Scathouse of Doom, which had Facebook groups and YouTube channels.

The Scathouse was founded by Genkislave, and the group’s purpose was to bring together a community of extreme content collectors. However, it also became the birthplace of several mixtapes, such as: Filth 1, created by Genkislave; Fetus Munchers 1 and 2, created by Fetus Munchers; This Is Not a Mixtape, created by MondoSquallido; Ryan Havok’s Mixtape, by Ryan Havok; and The Munch Bunch 1 to 4, by TheMaiden00. The mixtapes were released on Facebook and YouTube.

FUBAR served as inspiration for another well-known mixtape: Cυnt Fuck Boulevard 1–4, created by a group of individuals known as Toxic Filth Video.

Content[edit | edit source]

The mixtape contains only a few scenes of extreme gore; for the most part, it consists of scenes from extreme pornographic films, such as scat, enema, BDSM, and others. However, it also includes scenes of bullfighting and clips from the dark humor animation Happy Tree Friends, among other content.

Controversies[edit | edit source]

The controversies surrounding FUBAR began with the popularization of the "Horror Cinema" iceberg chart, posted on r/IcebergCharts, where FUBAR is placed in tier 8, the last tier. Many YouTubers made videos about the iceberg, making numerous false claims about various topics within the chart, and especially about the mixtapes, aiming to shock and generate more views. The most well-known YouTuber to make a video about the iceberg was Wendigoon, who did not shy away from sensationalizing FUBAR.
