Koch Bratan is a shock video that spawned lots of memes.
In January 2021, a shocking video from a bathhouse went viral on social media in Central Asia (including Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan).
Users falsely claimed that the crime had been committed in local regions, sparking a wave of panic and public violence.
Later, law enforcement agencies (including the Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs and Russian agencies) officially confirmed that the video was filmed in August 2019 in the village of Kosh-Agach in the Altai Republic (Russia). The culprit was identified and detained, and the criminal case was transferred to the Kosh-Agach District Court at the end of 2020. Police also identified those spreading false accusations and fake news on social media.
